Prowl The Promenade
The 7km stretch along the Sea Point promenade is a destination in itself. It is a broad paved seaside contour path that curves along the coastline and is separated from the sidewalk, which follows the coastal Beach Road, by a broad green lawn.
The promenade offers a number of children's playparks, beaches with rock pools, and panoramic views of Table Mountain, Signal Hill, and Lion's Head. It is popular among families with kids in prams, senior citizens; dog walkers, brisk walkers, and joggers. There are designated areas where bicycles and rollerblades are allowed too.
Swim Lengths
The Sea Point Pool at the Sea Point Pavilion, also along the promenade, offers a community open-air pavilion facility; a 50m Olympic size swimming pool, two kiddies splash pools, and a deep diving pool with springboard diving equipment. Built right on the Atlantic Ocean, the pools are crystalline, circulated with filtered seawater, and have minimum chlorine levels.
Beach
If exploring tide pools is not your idea of a beach experience, Sea Point is still within easy reach of the beaches of Bantry Bay, Clifton, and Camps Bay where you can sunbathe in soft white sand and brave the cold water of the Atlantic Ocean.
