With that in mind, I looked into the option taking a helicopter trip for a special family occasion a few months ago. Walk from the helipad in the vineyards to the restaurant.[/caption]Constantia Uitsig is home to two absolutely outstanding restaurants in La Colombe and the Constantia Uitsig restaurant, so it is the ideal location to fly to, and being relatively close to the Waterfront the fuel cost is very reasonable.We had a fantastic meal, enjoying three courses each and several bottles of excellent South African wine, and after a long lazy afternoon we took a very pleasant and scenic transfer back to our villa.And what was the cost for this fantastic experience?In total it came to about R12,000 for six people. At the current (June 2012) exchange rate that works out at £150.84 per person for the entire day! That is less than just the meal would cost at a top international restaurant.All in all this is a really unforgettable experience and I recommend it highly.
