We're excited that The Ceres Railway Company have re-opened the Steam train day trip to Simon's Town. The Company have two amazing day trips departing from Cape Town, those being the Simon's Town trip and the Elgin Railway Market trip.

This charming rail adventure guarantees a 3-hour scenic ride through the beautiful Cape landscape to the seaside gem of Simon's Town. This trip tavels through some in-land suburbs and as you get closer to Simon's Town the railway travels along the coast. Keep your eyes on the ocean to spot surfers and wildlife in the ocean.
You'll have plenty of time to explore the town, savour a leisurely lunch, and visit the local museums. The station is just a short 600-meter walk from the heart of town, or you can opt for alternative transportation options like TukTuks, shuttles, or mini-buses.
