Cape Town has been buzzing with excitement these past few days and it may have something to do with a change in season (its finally Spring!) but I happen to know that there are plenty of Cape Tonians with tickets to not 1... not 2... but 3 rock concerts taking place under the African Sky in the not too distant future!
November 2012Rockers Linkin Park will be performing on the 7
th of November at the Cape Town Stadium. Last month they released their latest album Living Things and if you are a Linking fan, youll already have a new favourite. Strictly speaking, Id have to say the 2010 A Thousand suns has more earworm able tracks however its still bound to be a rocking concert.... Thats if nu metal or rap metal is your thing...
December 2012I might actually have to admit to much excitement around this next one... Lady Gaga is coming and I can already hear the fans going mental!! She is without fail an eccentric persona with a killer stage presence and her show is most likely going to be action packed! Whilst I doubt well get to see her in her world famous meat dress (thank goodness) were probably in for a treat. Shes performing at the cape Town stadium on the 3
rd of December and supporting acts include The Darkness (an adequately eccentric and nearly forgotten British pop band best known for their hit single I Believe in a Thing Called Love) and DJ Lady Starlight, Gagas longtime performance partner.
February 2013Its almost wrong, but the lead singer is still so incredibly yummy there are bound to be many a young sapling (Ill add myself to that list) staring star-struck and in sheer amazement at the 1962 born lead singer
Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Finally, they are touring to South Africa and will be in Cape Town stadium on the 2
nd of February 2013. Every time I think of them performing in Cape Town, I find myself head nodding to the beat of The adventures of Raindance Maggie... like a new age version of another one bites the dust ... Crazier still is that Die Antwoord will be their opeining act... personally, I think the zefness (Afrikaans slang for kitch or common) of Yolandie Visser might actually work (like yellow and purple, two contrasting colours which just... work).
All three concerts are supposedly almost all sold out - so if you were in Cape Town during any of these months and were a concert going person, you might find yourself scouting gumtree.co.za for ticket sales. Or just call us; we might be able to point you in the right direction if we can!
