Festive Lights Switch-on in Adderley Street (Mid December)
Cape Towns official switch-on of the festive lights in Adderley Street in the city centre has attracted locals and tourists for decades. Once the lights have been switched on, the historic main road in Cape Town comes alive with a rainbow of colourful lights. Access to the event is free. Check the date closer to the time, it usually takes place around the 14th of December.
Christmas on Table Mountain
Santa Claus and his elves may give stuffy chimneys a miss this year to wow Capetonians from the top of Table Mountain, one of the worlds New7Wonders of Nature. The big man in the red suit will be there on Christmas Day in the morning from 10:00am. Tickets for the Cableway can be bought online via Webtickets.co.za (there is an option to select a date) or at the cableway ticket office.

Sing along at this annual festive event , hosted at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 December 2015.
