Cape Towns Hidden Gems Part 3 - Nox Rentals

Welcome to Part 3 of Cape Towns Hidden Gems. As always we explore something for everyone. And whether your a Foodie, indoor or outdoor person, these blogs have something for you to check out.

Elephants Eye hike

Elephants_eyeThe name of this hike came out because the mountain it is set in looks like an elephant and the cave is right where the eye would be. Cape Town has many beautiful hikes but this is a great one for anyone from beginners to someone who enjoys a brisk hike. You can start from either the stunning Arboretum in Tokai or from Silvermine Reservoir. The hike from Silvermine Reservoir is mostly a flat comfortable walk along gravel roads. This route has great views from the start and another perfect thing is you can have a swim in the reservoir after your hike. The route from the Arboretum is a bit more challenging. As it starts lower in Tokai the hike us uphill the entire way but then downhill back. But don't let this put you off. The forests and natural flora are a site to be taken in.Keep an eye out for the wildlife around. Once at Elephants Eye Cave, take in the incredible views. Take a load off too and have a picnic.Other things to pack with you are sunblock, rubbish bags to clean up after yourselves, hats, swimming costumes, extra warm top, money to pay for entry and a cell phone with the emergency numbers on them (+27 86 110 6417).

Linko

LinkoThis is a brilliant and cosy Asian restaurant in Observatory. The restaurant can seat up to 30 people and is open to group bookings and private events. They also do catering for functions with very reasonably priced platters.I personally frequent it at least twice a month! The menu has a large variety and they also have some delicious vegan options. You can order off the standard menu or sit at the sushi bar. What I love most about this restaurant is the prices of their food. An 8 piece Avo Maki is only R30! Do I need to say more? They also often have great specials. Ladies night twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday where ladies pay only R99 all you can eat sushi and for just R1 more you can have all you can eat Chinese food. For the men it's R159.If Asian food is your thing be sure not to miss out on this gem. You can expect really friendly service and delicious food no matter what you order. You can check out their Facebook pagehere.

Long Street Baths

Longstreet_BathsThese baths are something most Capetonians overlook but they really are special. Hidden away at the top of long street the building doesn't look like anything special but there's a secret behind the unassuming entrance. The facilities include an Olympic sized pool, Turkish baths, hot baths a kiddies pool and separate changing rooms. It's the perfect place to take a moment and relax in the heart of the busy city centre.Prices range from R12 - R120 depending on your age, how long you are there and the facilities you are going to be using. As Cape Town is currently experiencing a terrible drought, the pools are only open for the school holiday 1-8 October, 7am - 7pm.
